Dharamshala- Thousands of people attended celebrations to mark birthday of Dalai Lama. This took place in main temple of Mc load ganj. There was an assembly of large crowds in temple and function started at 7 am with religious prayers. Dalai Lama is currently in US to confer kalchakra initiations. Parliamentarians, supreme justice commission and CTA officials attended ceremony.

“Special prayer sessions were held for the well-being and long life of the Dalai Lama,” Tenzin atisha, secretary of international relation and information in office of Tibetan government in exile. Tsuglagkhang temple is located close to palace of Dalai Lama. Foreigners from Australia, Switzerland and America were present on the occasion. The Tibetan cabinet also prayed for long life of Dalai Lama.

Samdong Rinponche, PM of Tibet said, “I wish His Holiness lives long and I pray for his healthy and prosperous life as predicted by our state oracle.”
