The breath-holding day has again come. The most enigmatic and the most prestigious award of the silver screen are going to declare its nominations today. The guesses are quite evident because of glittering ceremony of The Golden Globe Awards has already took place just last week.

This year the most cherished award ceremony will usually be staged in Kodak Theater, Los Angeles on February 26. The host of this year is comic actor Billy Crystal.

With some variations in the rules of Oscar voting, this year there will be 5 to 10 nominees in every category.

“The Descendants” starred by Michael Clooney and the biographical picture of Margaret Thatcher-“ The Iron Lady” starred by Meryl Streep are expected to be in the frontline of nominations. These two movies stole away many awards from the Golden Globe.

Apart from these two movies, “The Artist”- delineating the transmission of Hollywood movies from silent motion pictures to talkies, is supposed to be in the top of the nominations hit list. This film snatches 12 nominations in the Golden Globe Awards including the best film and the best director.

Three other movies are also under great expectations of getting nominations in best film category- Hugo, a film that deals with love letters to cinema, “The Help” and “Midnight In Paris” by Woody Allen.

These all are nothing but predictions of directors, actors and film lovers all over the globe. The Academy authority will unveil the original list by today itself.

After the departure of the original host of Oscars, Eddie Murphy, this year the most awaited night will be hosted by Billy Crystal. He had hosted this award ceremony even eight times before and the most recent was in 2004.

For, all film makers, actors, film critic and viewers, it’s again a breath taking day and best of luck for those who really deserve to add a new feather to their crown.
