Amazon’s E-Book Profits Go Up By 8%
According to the world’s biggest online retailer, Amazon.com is selling more number of e-book than paperbacks. But the fourth quarter results of Amazon were mixed. It said that the net income rose by 8% this quarter, which exceeded the Wall Street expectation.
The result showed the unevenness of the holiday shopping, as after the official end of recession people started to pick up their spending. But they were choosy about everything they bought.
In the recent quarter Amazon said people choose e-books of third generation to kindle electronic readers, eclipsing “Harry Potter and Deadly Hallows” were the best selling product in the retailer’s history.
The CEO of Amazon Jeff Bezos said he expected Amazon’s e-book to surpass paperbacks in second quarter of this year but this mile stone has come even sooner than he expected.
