America Plans To Honour Mother Teresa
America is determined to make public a postage stamp in memory of greatest saint of 20th century Mother Teresa. The stamp will be released on 5th of September, the day on which her soul departed for heavenly abode. In a statement released by United State postal service stated that the release of postal stamp is actually a tribute given to the legendary lady who led her life for caring work. She was awarded the highest civilian award of the world Nobel Prize in 1979 for her selfless service towards the poor and needy.
The release of stamp is motivated by the renowned service of Mother Teresa, her sympathy for the poor and distress. Mother Teresa, a little Roman Catholic nun and voluntary US citizen, cared the unwell and impoverished of India and the world for nearly 50 years. The postage stamp will be uncovered at a gathering in Washington on September 5.
The stamp textures a picture of Mother Teresa decorated by famous artist Thomas Blackshear II of Colorado Springs who had won many awards in his career.
The United States Postal Service each year, accounts a series of memorial stamps honoring people places and stamps and institution.
These stamps stay on sale for a restricted period and are extensively collected.
The Albanian Catholic nun, who dedicated her life to the oppressed, was honoured with the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979.
US postal service in its statement said
“Her humility and compassion, as well as her respect for the innate worth and dignity of humankind, inspired people of all ages and backgrounds to work on behalf of the world’s poorest populations.”
