An Arrest Warrant For Musharraf In Benazir Bhutto Case

ISLAMABAD: Benazir Bhutto assassination (2007) case took a U turn when a court in Pakistan issued arrest warrant for ex Prez Pervez Musharraf. Now it is the headache of Pakistan to arrest Musharraf who is presently residing in United Kingdom.
The country is planning to seek the help of Commonwealth countries in extraditing ex-president Musharraf from UK.
High commission of Pakistan in London has launched a request to Kamlesh Sharma, secretary general Commonwealth Country. It has requested to put political pressure on Britain’s home department to initiate criminal proceedings in British courts itself against Musharraf.
However there is an added complication in UK’s obligations to humanitarian laws of European Union, which forbids exile of suspect to countries where they are probable to facade execution.
