Artificial Pancreas Is Beneficial During Pregnancy

According to researches a pregnant women suffering from diabetes if given artificial pancreas could save mother’s lives and improve the baby’s health.
During pregnancy the hormonal changes coupled with diabetes makes sugar level regulation difficult, which can have harmful consequences.
The diabetes care research says sugar can be kept at normal level by giving artificial pancreas during pregnancy.
People with type 1 diabetes are not able to control their blood sugar level because their pancreas stops producing insulin. It can be controlled by insulin injection but it becomes complicated during pregnancy.
According to Dr Helen Murphy, from Cambridge University expectant mothers having type 1 diabetes when give birth to children most of them are overweight or obese because of too much of sugar in the blood.
The researcher said they have proved that the concept of artificial pancreas work so they are hoping to start the trial this year.
