TV journalist from Australia was able to enter the main arena of common wealth game carrying an explosive detonation kit without being bunged by any police officials or security guards. This all drama folded just couple of week before the mega game event commencement.
The Journalists were from Channel 7. They also filmed black-marketing of explosives. The detonator kit purchased by them was capable of setting about 200 explosions. The kit was portable too.
The sting operation was broadcasted on the channel which showed its reporter Mike Duffy easily walking into the main game venue with the over-sized, wheeled suitcase. They entered the location when the barricades were removed (only for Police).
The voice over of the program carried the following statement “Patrol cars drive in, I slip through.” “While they are (policeman) distracted by their own cars, I breeze in with an oversized suitcase.
“There were dozens of police. But nobody asks me what it’s for. And this is not an ordinary piece of luggage. It is a portable remote detonation kit.
He also in the report clandestinely filmed the process of buying the kit from the boot of a car in a restaurant car park situated in Northern part of New Delhi.
For the authentication of the report he stringed the statement of the vendor saying “If I need to blow up this car, all I need further is a detonator and explosive.”
The news crew said they were effortlessly able to acquire both items, including ammonium nitrate and explosives used for mining, within a day’s drive of New Delhi, which will begin hosting the Commonwealth Games on October 3.
Security concerns about the games were sharpen on Sunday after two Taiwanese tourists were injured in a Gun shot near Jama Masjid . Game Organizing committee has assured that game will be safe and sound.
