Auto-Rally Joined By Russian And Ukrainian Presidents
MOSCOW: Interfax news agency reported, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his Ukrainian counterpart Victor Yanukovich joined an auto-rally that started in St. Petersburg on Friday. In Russia’s Bryansk region bordering the Ukraine, the two leaders joined the race.
The destination of rally’s is Ukrainian capital Kiev. During the rally, produced in 1951, Medvedev drove a Pobeda sedan. A 1950 Pobeda cabriolet was chosen by Yanukovich. In good order, at 60 km south, both men hoped their retro cars would make it to the finish. The president, will hold talks at the race’s finish in the Ukrainian town of Glukhov on improving bilateral relations, who are accompanied by 36 other participants.
It also includes alleviation of the cross-border movements. Later, the presidents will return back to Russia for holding more talks on cooperation in the transport, energy, aviation industry and science and technology. Since Victor Yanukovych took office in February, the relationship of Ukraine-Russia has been improving rapidly.
