Barcelona Are The Winners Of Champions League

Barcelona displayed a marvelous performance to win the final of Champions League against Manchester United with a score of 3-1 on Saturday at Wembley.
The match appeared to be one sided as Barcelona completely dominated it. Pedro scored the first goal to give the Catalan giants lead. Wayne Rooney neutralized this lead by scoring the only goal coming from Manchester United team. The second half witnessed some spectacular display from Barcelona. Lionel Messi scored the second goal for Barcelona followed by David Villa scoring the third one.
Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola was delighted with this victory. Blaugrana won this title for fourth time in the history of this competition.
Guardiola remarked, “It is never easy. We must congratulate Manchester United for the great match they have played. We are pleased because we know how hard it is to win the Champions League.”
He felt the team had prepared hard for this match and they deserved victory. He pointed his team controlled the match superbly.
Even in win, Guardiola praised United as they cancelled out the opening goal of Pedro.
He added, “This year we had more time to prepare for the final compared to the one in Rome. We were able to prepare well for it and we had a great game. We are very happy with the victory.”
He emphasized the Manchester United’s history indicated that Barcelona would have tough time. He mentioned the opponents played high level soccer and equalized very quickly. He is delighted as Barcelona played competitively.
Guardiola has won this title twice from three seasons as a coach. He took over this team in 2008 summer replacing Frank Rijkaard. Barcelona also won this title in 1992 under Johan Cruyff and in 2006 under Rijkaard.
Manchester United forward Javier Hernandez was disappointed due to this defeat. He had an outstanding campaign for United this term but the 22 years old player is unsatisfied as his team could not cross the final hurdle.
Hernandez remarked, “The defeat obviously hurts. There are lessons to be learned, and we have to learn them.
He added, “Now I have nothing to celebrate, nothing to shout about. I’m hurt: these losses always hurt, even moreso in a final.”
He could not hide his desire of winning this trophy and said his team instead now has to applaud.
Hernandez lauded Barcelona as the deserving winners. He could not score in the 90 minutes of game against Blaugrana. He pointed that Barcelona played better than them and are the best football side on the planet.
Hernandez was not surprised by the performance of Messi. He rates him as the best player and feels the Argentina striker is known for these fabulous performances.
