Beaked Whales Ail Because of Sound

Georgia: As per the new reports, navy sonar causes disturbance to beaked whales. The noise levels pose a risk to these creatures and need to be made less in intensity.

As per the revelation by the underwater microphones during the sonar exercises in the area, beaked whales fled the area. This has taken place at sound records of 140 decibels.

As per the study leader at oceanographic institute in Massachusetts, Peter Tyack, “The beaked whales are more sensitive to sound compared to other creatures and there is need of special rule for these.”

Cox of savannah of SUG said, “We treat porpoises differently, and now there’s evidence that beaked whales respond differently as well.”
