A Biodiesel Plant To Be Setup in Dubai

In Middle East, Dubai has become the first to setup a biodiesel plant that will use recycled vegetable oil.  A newly established Neutral Fuels and McDonald’s UAE is a partnership in UAE aiming to set up environment friendly biodiesel from vegetable oil that is used.

This initiative is a major milestone for Dubai and it will boost up local firms to get competencies to add up more diversity to business landscape.

In this, used oil will be collected from the outlets of McDonald’s under a contract which will be converted into 100 percent pure biodiesel.Presently, there is not any saving on the cost of fuel, but if diesel prices escalate high in future there may be savings, said McDonald’s UAE Managing Director and Partner Rafic Fakih. The main objective is to reduce carbon footprint, not to save.

“As a founder of the CSR Network and partner of Emirates Environment Group, McDonald’s UAE has demonstrated a passionate and long-term commitment to investing in environmental initiatives.

We believe it is a step in the right direction towards a more environmentally-friendly UAE, and we would encourage other public and private companies to do the same.”

Neutral Fuels is a joint venture between Neutral group and a member of Dubai SME. This environmental friendly diesel can be used in place of presently used diesel which will boost up the performance of diesel engines.
