Blackpad From Blackberry To Launch In November

TORONTO: A new rival of Apple iPad will launched in November, RIM (Research in Motion Ltd.) maker of BlackBerry smart phone plans to launch a tablet PC in November to compete Apple’s iPad.
The tablet PC will have mostly same dimension as the iPad, screen would around 9.7-inch, said two unknown people. It will also have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features, which allow people to connect with BlackBerry smart phone via internet. RIM wants to win market for these devices which are reducing gap between smart phone and notebook PC.
Ashok Kumar, an analyst with Rodman & Renshaw Inc in New York said that, “They can’t wait for a second generation of devices from Apple or they’ll fall too far behind”.
A spokesman of RIM Marisa Conway, refuse to comment on it.
According to a person who is familiar with company’s plans, the tablet PC would call Blackpad. According to the person who is database of domain names, RIM acquired the internet rights to blackpad.com this month.
The said that price would starts at $499, RIM is focusing on reap additional profit not on price competition to sell number of devices.
On 3 August Company will debut its BlackBerry 9800 slider phone, company is hosting an event in New York. The device will come with features like full touch screen and slid out QWERTY keyboard. RIM strategy to use the device is to capture the market share which company lost recently.
