BMW’s Z4 Gets 4 Cylinders

BMW has added to the Z4 roadster line up a 4-cylinder engine variant, the new engine making it the first non 6-cylinder version of the latest model to go on sale.
The new lineup Z4 will use a 2.0-litre 240hp TwinPower Turbo engine and will be available later this year. The new engine is already available in the BMW X1 x Drive28i however it is completely new. It replaces the bigger six cylinder engine and improves economy of around 6mpg with no loss of performance.
The new Z4 is expected to replace the existing sDrive30i model that averages 33mpg.
The RwinPower Turbo is high-tech engine with high Precision Injection and a Turbocharger fed by 2 exhaust ducts. Also the car has BMW’s fully variable valve control system, double VANOS, VALVETRONIC and variable camshaft.
The company isn’t announced its economy and performance figures for the new Z4. Could they will match the 0-60mph in 5.8 sec of the 258hp xDrive30i.
