Campbell Soup: Legal Fight Simmering

New York: Campbell Soup Co., the world’s largest soup-maker, had been sued by four women last year over its “low-sodium “tomato soup.
Women argued that the company had misguided them by making its customers to pay more for its “low-sodium” brand. Actually, the much hyped and professed “low-sodium” soup contains as much salt content as its regular soup.
Now, the court case filed by women has got the requisite permission to move ahead against Campbell Soup Co. According to Jerome Simandle , US District Judge, the lawsuit can’t be dismissed . He further added that claims can be very well pressed by women under New Jersey’s consumer fraud act.
The court case filed by the women states that actually the low-sodium brand of the company was a comparison to some other regular soup products of the company, but it was not mentioned clearly.
On the other hand, the company says that this allegation doesn’t have any sound base and it’s ready to fight the lawsuit filed against it.
