Chinese Automobile Dealers Shift Focus To After Sales Service

Government efforts to curb road congestion in Beijing resulted in only 45,800 new vehicles being sold in January.
Due to the governments efforts to curb road congestion the dealers in Beijing have started efforts to reconstruct their strategy by shifting their focus from sales to services to cope with the sharp decline in sales in the local market.
The move is being seen as a healthy development for the whole automobile sector. The quota policy to ease traffic pressure reduced auto sales to only 45,800 new vehicles in January with majority of the buyers from surrounding cities.
The quota pressure resulted in deliveries from dealers to customers decline from 50 to 70 percent and a few dealers saw sales dip to as low as 200 percent from December.
The sharp decline in new car sales has forced the dealers in Beijing to find new alternatives for survival and the shifting of focus to service from sales will definitely revive the declining profits of auto dealers.
