Secretary of the state Hillary Clinton called for the peaceful solution of the maritime disputes. This happen after sino Japanese tension increased.

Clinton said :

“The United States has a national interest in the freedom of navigation and unimpeded lawful commerce. And when disputes arise over maritime territory, we are committed to resolving them peacefully basic customary international law.
