Code of Conduct For Mobile Phones
Mobiles have found its extensive use, but people are now forgetting the basic code of conduct of using mobile phones. Recent news made by Tata chairman Ratan Tata said that “Its really hard to get British workers from firm like Jaguar and Corus at weekends. The weekends start from Friday 3.30 pm and ends till Monday morning. According to TATA it was an unprofessional behavior.
After all, we Indians come from a work culture where phone has turned as an important part. It rings even in office hours and people come in, take calls it’s not a problem. When an Etiquetter trainer Pria Warrick was asked on the issue, she said that Indians work cultures are affected by mobile phones. TATA’s claim for unprofessional culture seems partly right. “The works timings are defined in the global working culture and the phone, particularly for the frontier to mid-level management, gets switched off once they step out of the office.”

According to a recent survey in the United States people claimed that 40% companies has mobile phone usage codes for their organization and it is must for their employee to follow those. However Indian Inc has no such conduct and hence employee feels little more liberal here. While talking to CEO of a reputed company said that “Mobile policies vary from mild, self-regulated to blanket restrictions on carrying mobiles phones during official hours. The principle for the restriction is simple, on the nature and structure of work; mobile phones can boost the work productivity and even distract it.
