Dalai Lama Will Cede Political Role To New Prime Minister

Dharamshala: On Sunday, the Dalai Lama ceded the political role and this was in favor of the new PM Lobsang sanjay. It was done by accepting amendments finalized by Tibetan parliament in exile. Other responsibilities of spiritual leader of Tibet shall be divided among deputy speaker, speaker and justice commission and also other leaders elected democratically. This was told by the spokesperson of the government of Tibet in exile. The parliament further approved the title to be changed to Tibet administration.
The announcement is followed by deliberations for over 3 days from May 26 to 28. It is in this time period, the parliament of Tibet approved new preamble. It also highlighted the responsibilities and rights of Dalai Lama under article one of charter.
The powers are with the Dalai Lama as executive head under article 19. These are now transferred to kalon tripa [PM]. As per this, the PM Lobsang sanjay [43] will have the power to promulgate and approve bills and also the regulations passed by the parliament of Tibet in exile.
The Tibetans are shocked at the transference of the temporal powers of Dalai Lama. Many representatives petitioned him to remain in control but he did not give in. He said the people of Tibet should be used to a democracy which is genuine. By this announcement, he also settles the Tibetan future leadership.
From the present day, the political reigns will go to Lobsang sanjay who is also a Harvard scholar. He will have an unprecedented role in the future Tibetan movement. As per the spokesperson of the Tibet parliament secretariat, the amendments made were approved by Dalai Lama on the evening of Sunday.
As per the new charter, Dalai Lama is the symbol of protection of Tibetan people and Tibet. He will keep guiding assembly and engage efforts for satisfactory outcome.
