Argentina soccer great Diego Maradona praised Lionel Messi for his marvelous display in football. ‘La Pulga’ showed his brilliance by scoring two goals versus Real Madrid in a Champions League match on Wednesday. The second strike is drawing comparisons with few best goals scored in the past from all time.

Diego is delighted with his compatriot’s success, and believes both he and Messi have made Argentina proud. He said, “The key point is that we are two Argentines who were able to conquer European football, when many could not even cross the Rio de la Plata.”

Diego did not divulge whether he feels Messi is better than him. He pointed both of them dominated football and it would be judged later who was best. He added, “Why Maradona or Messi? We both did it. I dominated in my career and Messi is doing the same. Only at the end of history will we see who was the best, if it was Maradona or Messi.”

Messi would not play in the weekend match against Real Sociedad due to an injury he got against Madrid. It is expected that he would be fit to play in the second-leg semi final of Champions League on Tuesday.
