According to a Reuters report and The Institute of Marine Mammal studies since mid of January twenty dolphin calves have been deceased on Mississippi and Alabama shores.

However the cause of death is still not clear, the bodies of the death infant dolphins are in the deep water Horizon Oil Spill. It is estimated that it releases 205.8 million gallon of crude oil in the Gulf of Mexico.

It is indicted that both mother and infant dolphins are at risk and most of the death dolphins are found 3 feet in length.

The director of the IMMS in Gulf Mr Moby Solangi, told Reuters that due to some reason they have started aborting or were dead before birth.
