An earthquake of magnitude 5.1 struck bonin islands of japan today. This was confirmed by the geological survey of United states.  As per the current news data –

There is no current report of damage or a warning regarding tsunami generation.

The geological reports said –

This is an undersea quake generate at a depth of 9.9 km.  The epicenter of the quake was 77km south west of chichi – shima island. It occurred at 8.58 pm local time.
