European Parliament Asserted That It Will Launch Pharmacovigiliance Web Portal

BRUSSELS – On Wednesday the European Parliament asserted that it will launch pharmacovigiliance web portal which will provide information regarding medicinal products and their side effects on the human beings.
The parliament said in a statement, the portal will allow patients to be better informed of the use of medicinal products and to report any suspected adverse effects to national authorities. The additional monitoring will also be subjected on the medicinal products after being put on the market; it will be identified with a symbol of black color and will be subsequently listed on the portal.
A European parliamentarian, Linda McAvan said, “With a pool of 500 million people, it is much easier and quicker to pick up an adverse reaction than when working at national level”.
