More Frequent Breast Cancer Screenings Save More Lives

According to a recent study, United States advisory panel issues guidelines for breast cancer screening. It recommends women to begin having mammograms at less frequent intervals and at a later stage.

The study conducted by scientists from the University of Colorado and University of Michigan says that more frequent mammograms result in more lives saved. The findings of this study were published in the latest issue of the American Journal of Roentgenology.

Breast cancer is a dangerous disease. Only after lung cancer, it is considered to be the leading reason behind death among United States women. It has been observed to claim five lacs of lives annually all over the world. This serious killer is diagnosed in approximately 1.3 million globally every year.

Women can save themselves from this disease by taking part in Breast Cancer Awareness and by getting active with a Breast Cancer prevention program. It involves eating healthy and being physically active to the required level.
