Two Girls Dead In Nigeria Blast

Kano, Nigeria- There were fresh blasts in the north Nigeria. In this incident, death toll reached 25. The suspected islamists hurled bombs and fired on beer garden crowded with people. As per an army commander, “Three customs officers were seriously injured in the attack while two child vendors — both of them girls — were killed in the blast”
As per the witnesses and residents, the death toll reached upto a dozen. One resident abdulkadir said, “I was about 100 metres (yards) from the customs bridge roundabout when the blast happened. It was a crowded area. I saw two vans conveying the dead. From my estimation, not less than 10 people were killed in the blast”.
One local journalist saw several dead bodies lying on ground. One journalist said, “I counted at least 12.” The exact nature of blast was not known immediately. Two men on motorbikes threw bombs in beer garden, fired bullet shots and ran away in a shock attack.
Amnesty international said, “senseless” killings of civilians — singling out Boko Haram for a call to end its “reign of terror.”
One of its key persons said, “These killings are senseless and outrageous. Direct attacks on civilians are prohibited under international law and show a complete disregard for the right to life.”
Amnesty further said, “”Boko Haram must stop its reign of terror in the country. No cause can justify the deliberate targeting of civilians”
Earlier also, there was a brutal attack which led to death of hundreds. Amnesty said government of Nigeria should protect civilians in northeastern parts.
“The Nigerian government can only ensure safety by investing heavily in reforming the criminal justice system, so that the perpetrators of these attacks and other human rights abuses can be properly investigated, arrested and prosecuted in fair trials.”
