To stave off rival Facebook Inc, Google Inc will let users to personally endorse search results plus web pages. The current attempt of the firm will help to jump onboard social networking boom.

From Wednesday, the so-called button ‘+1’ will be available alongside Google’s search results for selected users. It will let the user recommend specific search results to friends and contacts by clicking on the button.

The new feature eventually may begin to influence ranking of search results, however it is under consideration. Now results are ranked via the closely guarded algorithm.
