Google Launches Its First Music Store in US, Tough Challenge with Apple

Google opened a new music store in US which was anticipated. It created a new rivalry with Apple in mobile industry.
First time, Google is going to sell various songs for Android phones. And through its online store it will provide e-books, apps and movies. It starts the services after some days in US. However, it is planning to capture the whole Android market. Google is planning provide services to around 200 million people using Android phones.
Some of the songs are freely available and other are sold at $1.29, 69 cents and 99 cents. Their price is almost similar to iTunes of Apple. Some of the artists available to work immediately are Pearl Jam, Jay-Z and Adele. In store, you can find lots of tracks by famous artists such as Busta Rhymes, Rolling Stones and Coldplay.
Google is going to sell around 13 million tracks of four main recording houses .i.e. Sony Music Entertainment, Vivendi SA’s Universal Music, Independent Labels and EMI Group Ltd. They did not add Warner Music Group in their list of topmost recording companies. Spokespeople from Warner did not give any response of their request.
Users can share their purchased songs through Google’s social networking site, Google Plus. There is an option to listen to the free songs by user’s friends for once.
After purchasing the song, you can upload it to the internet. These songs can also be streamed on the browsers of your mobile phone and computer, including Apple’s browser Safari. After downloading these songs on the devices with Android phone, users will be able to stream them or play them in their devices.
Jamie Rosenberg, the director of Google digital content said “Other cloud music services think you have to pay to listen to music you already own. We don’t”.
Executives of recording company said that, some of the offers of Google become popular than iTunes. They gave special attention to the one free song feature which friends can listen; this feature will help them to reach new customers around the globe.
Rob Wells, the president of Global Digital said “How many people do you know have both an iPhone and an Android device?” And added to his statement that “I encourage any new entrant into the digital music space who is going to help us reach a broad audience and sell legitimate songs”.
Most of the recording companies are hoping to share their songs through Google’s music store and make some money.
