Google’s ITA Contract Opposed By Online Travel Firms
Many online travel organizations are opposing Google’s acquisition offer of $700 million for airline ticketing software firm ITA Software Inc. the all firms are joining hands and saying that the contract would have much influence on the travel sector.
Companies including Expedia Inc, Kayak.com, Sabre Holdings and Farelogix Inc are online service provider and they have their own popular tour websites. These firms are forming an alliance called FairSearch.org to convince the Justice Department to block Google’s current deal.
However the Google has constantly sustained that the firm doesn’t presently compete against ITA Software and the contract will not change existing market share in the online industry. But opponents of this contract worry that the firm, Google could bound access to ITA’s software that is employed by various websites operated by the members of the newly formed alliance.
Still not even a single online travel firm commented over the matter.
