Guardiola Rules Out The PossibilityPep Guardiola, manager of Barcelona, has ruled out the possibility of fractured ankle to ace player Lionel Messi. The Barcelona striker hurt his ankle in a challenge from opponent team’s defender Tomas Ujfalusi. The Catalan giants secured a 2-1 victory in this match against Atletico Madrid played on Sunday.

Czech player Ujfalusi was given a red card for his foul on Messi when the match was near its close.

Messi was taken of the field in a stretcher. He could be seen in a lot of pain. Guardiola is sad because of this injury to his key player and feels his exact condition could be known after a few tests.

Guardiola said, “We are very pleased with the win but sad about the injury to Leo.”

He added, “In principle, a fracture is ruled out which was what was worrying us. Tomorrow we’ll do some tests and they’ll tell us how he is.”

Messi scored the opening goal of this match. After that Raul Garcia scored an equaliser for the home team. Then Gerard Pique scored the winning goal for Barcelona.
