Hospitals Are Using Fishing Therapy

Have you ever thought out any therapeutic importance of fishing? Recognizing the benefits, two Scottish hospitals (Greater Glasgow and Clyde) are using fishing as a therapy to cure people.
This idea was hit upon by the staff at two mental health hospitals. Their recommendation was based on their own love for it. Nursing assistants John Kelly, David Potter and Mark Aitchison from Leverndale and Dykebar hospitals came up with this unique idea.
They predicted that tranquil and calm environment would definitely relax patients. Additionally, it would also lessen the feeling of stigma that grips many patients.
According to Mr. Kelly, they feel fishing is extremely therapeutic and beneficial and it will definitely help patients to feel better.
They work with patients who are suffering from various issues related to mental health and want to do something to ameliorate their conditions.
“We had brilliant feedback from our managers, who were quick to help us establish a plan – the results have surpassed all our hopes.”
Staff at these hospitals takes out patients for fishing once in a week.
