HTC Corp. Profit Jump By 33 %

[private]TAIPEI, Taiwan: HTC corp. Taiwan’s top smart phone Maker Company announced on Thursday its second quarter earning results, its 33 % rose, demand of smart phones using Google’s Android Operating System are growing year on year. 8.6 billion ($269 million) new Taiwan dollars, net profit for the April – June quarter. In a statement company said that unconsolidated revenue up by 28 % totaled as $1.9 billion.

HTC expecting for third quarter sales forecast to reach a high record $2.2 billion because of a huge and high demand of Google’s Android smart phone from Europe, North America and Asia. Expectation is near about double from same period of last year, Cheng Hui-ming, the chief financial officer of company told an online investor conference. That means shipments of 6.5 million handsets which are up by 132 % from same period of last year, he said.

HTC the first company which designed and produced Google’s Inc. Android Operating System and experience the fast growth in business this year. Company is claiming that o every two Android based smart phone being sold, one is made by HTC, and it also goes same for Microsoft Windows based handsets.

Cheng said that HTC will keep making these products, based on Android and Microsoft operating system handsets and plans to roll out a new smart phone based on Windows 7 operating system by the end of year 2010.

HTC launched four new smart phones which designed for Chinese market this year and signed a partnership deal with China Mobile. But Cheng said “China will not be a “significant contributor” to HTC sales yet, partly because of the late Chinese adoption of third-generation technology”.

“China is an important market, but at this stage we want to lay the groundwork instead of building volume,” he said.[/private]
