HTC Follows in the Footsteps of Acer and Samsung

Despite the underwhelming response to the Acer and Samsung Chromebooks HTC is considering coming up with its own chromebook in the market, using Google chrome as the operating system. The new chromebook is being billed as the “internet access device”.

Also the company plans to mix the pros of both- android and chrome OS (however they still haven’t made it clear that this would mean a dual booting system or not). The android part will help in browsing the internet and content consumption while the chrome OS would help in the creation of the content with the help of cloud based applications provided by Google.

They are also planning to run Google chrome on an ARM chipset (used in android phones) instead of the Intel processor (which is quite energy consuming). The advantage of this would be that with a single charge the chrome OS will be able to run for a longer time, and at the same time provide the user with high definition video and other multimedia benefits.

It should be noted here that both Samsung and Acer have cut down their rates in the earlier week to boost the sales (but even then it is expected to reach just 30,000). Also the chromebooks have some tough competition from the notebooks (they are definitely more flexible to use at present). Under such circumstances it would be great to see the future of HTC chromebooks.
