The second biggest car maker company Hyundai has declared that the company will launch its Santa Fe SUV in this October. A company official said that the company targets to capture the highly competitive SUV market of India so it plans to launch Santa Fe. The car is estimated to be in the price range of ` 22 to 24 Lakh.

Director of marketing & sales Hyundai Motor India, Arvind Saxena, said that, the company will launch the car Santa Fe in October – November.  He added that Hyundai India will consider begin assembling vehicles here in Chennai plant, if volumes pick up. The company is aiming to provide major focus to premium product category with the launch of Sana Fe and then followed it up with other models, he said.

The company is planning to import the car as completely built units and the car will be powered with 2.2 litre diesel engine. The car will be seven seater SUV, as against previous five seater SUV.

Constantly Hyundai attempts t capture the SUV market with its SUV car like Terracan and Tucson, but the company has been a major key player in small car segment with its Santro and i10 which reached sells over 7000 units each month. But its premium car segment like Elantra and Sonata has not achieved success as like small cars.
