Indian Rupee Appreciated By 10 Paise To Rs 46.79 A Dollar

10 paise In early trade on the Interbank Foreign Exchange on Monday the Indian rupee appreciated by 10 paise to Rs 46.79 a dollar in early trade. It was supported by foreign funds into the fresh capital inflow into equity market.

In the previous session of Friday due to dollar’s demand from importers and week stock markets, the Indian rupee had lost 5 paisa to Rs 46.89/90 against the US dollar. Forex dealers said the dollar’s gains against other currencies, capped gains but fresh capital inflow into equities by foreign funds provided support to the rupee.

Meanwhile, in the opening trade on Monday Sensex rose by 218.09 points to 18,216.50 at the Bombay Stock Exchange index.
