Indian Team Maintain To Stay At The Peak Spot In Test Rankings
[private]Indian team got a very good morale booster as they maintained to occupy the peak spot in ICC Test Rankings after the second test. Indian team’s number one ranking was in danger as they lost to Sri Lanka in the first test by a huge margin.
However, India bounced back in the second test at SSC Colombo by a good performance. Although, the result of the match was a draw but the team took a decent first innings lead. Superb batting performances by Sachin, Sehwag, Raina and Dhoni were the highlights of the Indian innings.
India is occupying the top spot with 130 points. South Africa is a close second with 119 points. If Indian performance declines and it losses the third test it would still stay at the top spot.
If India performs well and wins the third test its point tally would still come down to 127. A draw in the third test means their points tally dropping to 124 and Sri Lanka having 119 points. Loosing the third test match means India stay at top with 122 points and Sri Lanka just behind at 121 points.
In ICC ODI rankings, Australia is at top of the charts having 132 points. India is not far behind occupying the second place with 118 points.[/private]
