Ipad 2: Small In Size With Similar Screen And High-Quality Sound

Unnamed sources from China leaked iPad 2 photographs and details to a Japanese blog named Mac Otakara. If the news from these sources is true then next-generation iPad continues to have same size LCD display of its predecessor.

However, its size will be smaller by 3-millimeter with a flat back quite similar to iPod Touch and enhanced inbuilt speakers. In nutshell, the dimensions of second generation iPad will be 9.4 inches (239mm) tall, 7.4 inches (186mm) wide and 0.48 inch (12mm) thick.

If you believe the sources and Google translation of Mac Otakara blog, then there is a hole at lower-right side of the rear panel containing inbuilt wide-range speaker unit instead of SD card slot or USB port. It means iPad 2 provides high-quality sound, but continues to have memory restrictions and no USB port to attach peripherals and input devices. The ambient light sensor is moved to the upper center of the rear panel, whereas new iPad continues to have parts of antenna in the upper part.

The Japanese blog also reveals that Apple has already started production stock and shipping date of second-generation iPad seems to be between middle to end of January. The blog also states, on behalf on unreliable information, that new iPad may have two cameras – one in front for FaceTime and another at back for recording videos.

Let us wait for the official announcement of next-gen iPad from Apple itself.
