Spain: Soccer great Johan Cruyff is not worried about the poor form of David Villa for his club Barcelona. He has defended the ace striker and feels the latter is a dangerous player. The player is struggling to score goals for his club in the recent time.

Cruyff remarked, “Villa is no less dangerous, despite going five games without scoring for Barca.”

Cruyff was of the opinion that the Spanish player possesses several qualities besides his deadly finishing and this justified his position in the deadliest attacking line-up in football.

He added, “Just as Xavi is not in the field only to give assists, Villa is not only there to finish plays.”

The criticism of Villa regarding his club form comes at a time when he has gone past the Spanish legend Raul and became his nation’s leading goal scorer in all-time. He achieved this feat when he scored two goals against Czech Republic.
