Keep Your Kitchen Safe

Even when you have a top of the line stove top, a safe electric chimney and most importantly a fire extinguisher you kitchen may not be that safe. Thus here are some ways to help you make your kitchen safe:
• You should store a first aid box and fire blanket in your kitchen.
• Make sure to maintain a distance of 3ft between your cooking stove and refrigerator. This is because electricity and fire never mix well.
• You should never keep electric cord to trail on the top of the floor, because if wet ingredients and water spills it may trigger short circuits.
• You must store knives with sharp edges in a wooden box as it will not harm anyone.
• Every night before sleeping check for any breaks or cuts on the electric cords.
• Never allow wet spillage on the floor make sure to keep the floor dry before walking as to avoid any accident.
• Never use many plugs and extension cords as they overload the circuit causing fire. Thus try to avoid it.
• You should never place any electric sockets near the sink. So you should keep your toaster and microwave far from your sink.
• To avoid any tripping chances keep your floor clean on boxes, grocery bags, stools and so on.
• To avoid contamination of food keep all the chemical cleaners away from food items.
• It is necessary to make a list of all important phone numbers like fire, gas leakage, ambulance service and stick it near your telephone because at any point of time you may need it.
• If at any time fire causes due to oil spills put the fire blanket on it or any dump cloth and quickly turn off the gas. Never use water to stop spreading of fire.
• If your cooking gas starts leaking turn off the supply of piped gas and open all the windows. Never use a match box or do not switch on light and quickly call the gas company.
