Los Angeles stormed into the semifinals of Western Conference after a 98-80 victory against New Orleans in the Game 6 held on Thursday at New Orleans Arena. Lakers won the series 4-2.

Kobe Bryant was fabulous scoring 24 points for his team. Andrew Bynum scored 18 points while Pau Gasol added 16 points for the winning side. Chris Paul who played a crucial role for Hornets in the series could score just 10 points. Carl Landry scored team high 19 points for New Orleans.

Phil Jackson, Coach of Lakers, remarked, “You set your mind that whatever it takes. If it takes seven games in a series, you play seven games. We want to win every game, no doubt. (You may not), but you’ve got to be able to do it without disappointment.”

With this result, the Hornets are eliminated in this season. The Lakers play on Monday against winner of Portland and Dallas series.
