Barcelona scored an easy 5-0 victory against Almeria in a Copa del Rey match played on Wednesday. In November Barcelona had beaten the same rivals 8-0 in primera division.

Lionel Messi scored a brace for the winning team. His first goal came only 10 minutes after commence of play. David Villa, Pedro and Seydou Keita contributed by scoring one goal each for them.

Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola praised his team for their brilliant display but is fully aware of the fact that there is one more game left before the finals. Blaugrana had won the first leg of quarter finals against Real Betis 5-0. Although Barcelona qualified for the semi finals but Betis gave them a good fight by winning the second leg.

Guardiola said, “It is a great result, but we have learnt from the Betis experience that we cannot relax. We must be serious. Betis pressed hard, but there is no point saying that we are in the final just yet.”

He added, “We respected our opponent, but we will try our best to win the return leg.”
