Malhotra Feels Theme Song Of CWG By Rahman Could Have Been Better

Song Of CWG V K Malhotra, Executive Board member of the Organising Committee of CWG, believes that the theme song for the Commonwealth Games in Delhi could have been composed in a better way by A R Rahman.

Theme song composed by Rahman for the Commonwealth Games was launched on Saturday in Gurgaon. The song has the wordings which include “Oh yaaro, yeh India bula liya”.

Malhotra believes composer of the caliber of Rahman could have given a song which could meet all expectations. He thinks that the song can be reworked as there is still time left for the Games.

Malhotra said, “This song has fallen short of expectations. We had a expected a better anthem for the Games from a composer of Rahman’s status.”

He also said, “He has given some very good songs like ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ but this song is not that impressive. We hope that the song is made better because there is still some time for the Games.”

Rahman sang this song at the launching ceremony in Gurgaon. On the occasion, he said, “I feel honored to get the opportunity to compose the theme song for the mega-event. It was not an easy task. I had started composing it six months ago and finished just last night.”
