Maradona Aims Pele For Comments On Messi

Argentina soccer legend Diego Maradona sarcastically commented on Brazilian great Pele. He feels old age is starting to affect the judgment of Pele after the latter recently commented on Barcelona ace Lionel Messi.

Pele sparked a debate by claiming Messi would never be able to achieve his excellence level. Maradona spoke at the press conference held on Saturday and laughed off these remarks. He then took his target at the 71 years old Brazilian icon.

Maradona remarked, “This is maybe due to old age affecting his thought processes.”

He added “You can’t blame the guy, he hasn’t been doing anything for the past 20 years. I haven’t even seen him in a supermarket. I don’t know what he does.”

He also said, “Usually, when you see him these days, it’s only at award ceremonies next to the president of FIFA and looking like a doll that’s being moved by remote control.”

He was of the opinion that he was not surprised by the comments of Pele.

This is the latest dispute between Pele and Maradona. They are known to have some much-publicized attacks on each other in media. The Argentine earlier claimed that Pele mixed up the prescription by giving an opinion that Brazilian youngster Neymar is better as compared to Messi.
