Mascherano Wants To Tell The Truth Behind His Departure

Tell The TruthBarcelona defensive midfielder Javier Mascherano wants to tell the truth that led to his departure from his former club Liverpool.

The Argentine captain was of the opinion that he wanted to leave Anfield last year but they did not allow him.

The tension between Roy Hodgson, Liverpool manager, and Mascherano grew when the latter did not play the game against Manchester City as he was considering the offer to join Nou Camp.

Mascherano will wait for the right time to clarify all the questions related to this episode. He said, “Roy Hodgson knows the truth. This is a happy moment for me so now is not the time to say it, but a lot of lies have been told about me and I will respond to them.”

He added, “Last year Liverpool would not let me leave. There was no way they would sell me. They had Xabi Alonso and me, and they would only let Xabi leave. I was disappointed not to be able to sign last season. When the best club in the world calls you, then it is something that you want to happen.”

He has a very friendly attitude towards the fans of Liverpool. He also said, “I hope they get back into the Champions League as soon as possible. I still have a lot of affection for the fans of the club and I always will.”
