Micky Mouse Tweets By Sawiris of Egypt Angers Conservatives

Cairo: One of the richest men of Egypt has been held responsible for mock of Islam. He has sent tweet cartoons Minnie and Mickey Mouse wearing Muslim attire.
The Coptic Christian and telcom Moghul has apologized for posting images again on twitter. Many Islamic lawyers have filed complaints and there are calls for business boycott.
This outcry has come when there is already tension between Christians and Muslims. There is a concern about the growing influence of salafists. They have taken inspiration from early Muslims who were close associated of Prophet Mohammed.
Friday he tweeted, “I apologize for those who don’t take this as a joke, I just thought it was a funny picture; no disrespect meant. I am sorry.”
One woman said, “There’s a fine line between expressing your opinion/freedom of speech and being flat out disrespectful”. There can be a fall in his business as there is call for a boycott.
One Muslim cleric said, “How can a man like this make fun of Muslims, in a country on the brink of sectarian discord”

Egypt was in sectarian trouble since the past many months and this tweet can create a problem. Many people were wounded in these clashes.
