NASA Claiming To Find 1,235 Planets Having Extraterrestrial Life

Washington: Two years of scoring finding of astronomers at NASA have revealed some goodies to the astronomical research. They have found about 1,235 planets orbiting their own suns.

The report was reported in daily mall. The news is based on Kepler space telescope. The study said that out of these planets there are 54 planets where life could exist in the ‘Goldilocks Zone’.

‘Goldilocks Zone’ is actually the distance from the star where an Earth-like planet can sustain liquid water and life can exist. Kepler is using one-four-hundredth of the night sky and extrapolate from there.

According to Scientists one of two stars has planets and one of 200 stars has planets in the livable zone. They further said that Kepler needs to sharp its image to get better glimpse of unknown area.

To get better estimate for the total number of planets, scientists observed the frequency and applied it to the stars seen in the Milky Way. Scientists outlined there were 100 billion stars in the Milky Way but a discovery in the last year said that the star’s number can go up-to 300 billion.
