Nikon Has Introduced Long-Awaited D800

After revealing full-frame D-SLR D4 few time ago. Nikon announces its new smaller sibling “D800”.  The new camera is successor to Nikon D700. It has full-frame camera and has similar features in both form and function to D700 and D4, although it has some differences as well.

D800The D800 has a 36 MP CMOS image sensor, sans Ethernet connectivity and a smaller integrated vertical grip. It is sharing several features with D4 for example uncompressed HDMI video output, 91,000 pixel RGB Matrix III meter, photo and video features.

It is capable to record QuickTime video in H.264 B-Frame format at 1080p24, 1080p30, 720p50 and 720p60. The image sensor of camera support ISO 100 through 6400 natively. It can be overcranked for shooting in very low light to 12800 and 25600.

The camera it offering 51 point autofocus system, dual memory card slots, one slot supports SDXC and second one supports CompactFlash. It has USB 3.0 port for faster connectivity that supports tethered shooting.

Nikon F-mount FX and DX lenses are compatible with this camera. Another D800E camera will also be made available that eliminates the low pass filter and helps to improve ability to capture details image.

Nikon D800 will come in the market in March and its cost would be $3000, while the D800E will come in April at $3300.
