The Ericson, a mobile equipment manufacturer announced that the firm had decided to purchase Nortel, the multi-service switch (MSS) commerce of Canadian group. The Nortel MSS group is under insolvency protection, for $65 million.

The MSS commerce offered the sale and support of switching platforms and data networks for core networks within the currently obtained wireless and carrier voice divisions, the firm Ericsson said in a statement.

The company also said that the acquirement of $65 million was on a debt free basis which is subject to adjustment.

In January, Nortel filed for insolvency protection and the firm has been auctioning off its commerce in an exertion to pay back debt holders.
