Osi Umenyiora has a passionate personality but on Thursday he got a bit from the media and the NFL. Umenyiora was fined an amount of $20,000 by this league. This was because he missed the mandatory 45 minutes media session held on Wednesday.

There were nearly 40 reporters as well as camera people who waited for him as he reported for the media session on Thursday.

Umenyiora gave his apology for not attending the session on Wednesday. He was of the opinion that it was due to some misunderstanding as he felt he had completed the media obligations on Tuesday.

He said, “We had a media day the day before, so I left to go hang out with my family members. I came back and saw my phone. It was crazy.”

He expressed that he didn’t realize he missed the morning session on Wednesday till he came back to his hotel to participate in team meeting to be held at noon. It resulted in a very costly outing for him with family members. Umenyiora understands all this and accepted the fine imposed on him.

He added, “They have to make it something big. If it was $1,000, everyone would stay in their rooms.”
