Overweight Cause Various Health Problems
The Australian Dieticians Association has launched the “Healthy Weight Week”.
According to the DAA 61 percent of Australian adults and 25 per cent of children are either obese or overweight. Presently there are no drugs available for long term weight loss. The only solution is surgery.
A recent study published in International Journal of Pediatrics found that nearly 63 percent obese children are more likely to be bullied, irrespective of their sex, socioeconomic status, the school they attend and race.
Stigma and discrimination are two of the highest predictors that cause poor health and physical problem. In 2009’s ANZOS conference Dr. Lyn announced that 84 per cent of the health professionals discriminate against obese or overweight people.
