Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola expressed delight after his side beat Hercules 3-0 in a Spanish Primera Division match played on Saturday. This was Barcelona’s 15th successive win in La Liga matches.

This was the record equaling effort form Blaugrana. They matched the feat which Real Madrid set in 1960-61. Guardiola is proud to achieve this honor. He said, “It is a tremendous honour to win 15 consecutive league games and equal the record of (Alfredo) di Stefano’s Real Madrid side.”

Guardiola was of the opinion that no team could match this feat in fifty years time and this shows how tough it is. He believes that some side will get better of this record some time.

He also praised striker Lionel Messi for continuing his good run in the game. Messi scored two goals in the match versus Hercules. Guardiola added, “He has scored 164 goals at the age of 23 and is fourth in Barcelona’s all-time scorers’ list, but if he continues like this he is going to break all the records.”
