Pep Guardiola Feels Rivals Real Madrid Displayed A Good Performance
Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola feels it is just normal that Los Blancos are satisfied with their performance in the Clasico for Copa del Rey on Wednesday.
Following the 2-1 loss at Santiago Bernabeu, the Real Madrid team appeared a lot more lively unit in second-leg.
They were only one goal behind from progressing ahead in this competition.
The game held at Nou Camp ended in a draw with the final scoreboard reading 2-2.
Guardiola said, “Madrid had a very good match and this always leaves a good taste in your mouth.”
He added, “We focus on the good things we did and the fact that we are in the semi-finals. We did some good things, some not-so-good things, but we knew that in those 180 minutes, Madrid would have their moment, would play their game and create chances to score.”
This draw in mid-week left its impact on the Barcelona squad. Alexis Sanchez and Andres Iniesta have got injuries and this consigns the two players to infirmary for minimum two weeks.
Barca visit Villarreal who are 17th-placed on Saturday for the weekend’s match in La Liga.
